Niederrhein University of Applied Science (Hochschule Niederrhein) was founded in 1971. More than 12.000 students make it one of the biggest universities of applied science in Germany. More than 50 study programmes are provided at the two sites, the cities of Krefeld and Moenchengladbach, that host the universitie’s 10 faculties and several research units. Amongst those the Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Hospitality Sciences located in Moenchengladbach provides two bachelor’s programmes (first cycle) and one master’s programme (second cycle) for 800 students. Within these programmes the management of food production is frequented orientation of studies.
